Building Leaders Across Continents: CTF Visits Mombasa, Kenya

On July 5-6, 2025, Living Tabernacle Achievers Ministry in Bamburi, Mombasa, hosted a memorable Missionary Leadership Conference, welcoming a delegation from Catch The Fire Church in Toronto, Canada. Led by Steve Long and joined by Conference coordinator Claire Ndayirorere.. The CTF team partnered with their host Bishop Kennedy Bwami and his wife Rev. Lydia Wanjiku Karugu to invest in the growth and encouragement of local church leaders from across the region.

Steve’s teaching throughout the conference drew from the International Leaders School of Ministry (ILSOM) program, known for its transformational impact on leaders with a heart for ministry and revival. Drawing on core CTF values, the teachings emphasized worship, living in the Father’s love, and cultivating authentic relationships in ministry. The sessions on day one touched on the significance of the Cross in everyday faith, how to discern God’s voice, and how forgiveness plays a vital role in church leadership.

Highlights of the weekend included moments when Steve prayed for attendees and created space to experience God’s presence together. With passionate worship and a focus on living in the Father’s love, the atmosphere encouraged genuine encounters with God. Steve stressed the importance of authentic community, developing new leaders, and embracing a generous, joyful approach to ministry. These moments reflected Catch The Fire’s heart for presence, encounter, and transformation as the foundation for leadership.

By the conference’s end, participants experienced a profound sense of unity and fresh motivation and leaving with practical tools, renewed purpose, and supportive relationships to carry into their work. Events like this demonstrate Catch The Fire Church’s ongoing commitment to raising up Christian leaders worldwide. At the close of the conference, each participant received a certificate in recognition of their commitment and completion of the two-day training.

The conference in Mombasa not only deepened connections between continents, but also empowered local pastors to serve their communities in Kenya and beyond with new vision and hope. The team is grateful to the generosity of their host, Living Tabernacle Achievers Ministry and their community members.
