School of Ministry Oroville

Our mission is to inspire students into deeper intimacy with God through equipping them with the knowledge of who they are, and who God is and a direction for their life by actively giving their time, energy and resources to change the world around them.

The Fathers House Church (TFHC) is located in the inner city of Oroville, California where substance abuse and poverty rule. Nearly one in two children are born into poverty garnering a 48 percent poverty rate (2010 Census). In Oroville selfishness supremely reigns, but we are actively trying to turn around a whole community through serving and living like Jesus: selflessly.

Geordie & Stefanie Mumby

Directors SoM, Oroville

Geordie and Stefanie Mumby are the Founders and Directors of School of Ministry, Oroville. Geordie and Stefanie were married in 2002, a year after they began dating. At the time, Geordie was working as an arborist and Stefanie was a manager at a local maternity store. In 2004 they both heard God on the same day saying, “sell your house.” The house sold in just one day and the Mumby’s moved from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

While living in Toronto, Geordie felt led to apply for Catch The Fire’s School of Ministry. He was accepted in 2005 and graduated in 2006. Geordie was introduced to The Father’s House Church during a four-week ministry trip he took during the outreach portion of School of Ministry. This was an experience that changed Geordie’s life forever. In fact, the normally reserved Geordie surprised his wife and family with his passionate response to what he’d seen and been a part of while in Oroville, California. This set a new course for the Mumby Family. In August of 2007, the Mumby’s arrived in Oroville to serve along side the staff of The Fathers House Church.

The Mumby’s have now been living and loving Jesus and the people of Oroville the past four years. During that time, their family has grown, (Jack; 3, Lia; 2, and their newest addition, baby boy Jase; who’s a mere three months old!) and so has their love for the people in the community of South Oroville. Geordie and Stefanie are changing lives through discipleship, loving the poor and the broken. Their foremost goal: to raise up students and interns who look like Jesus!
